Allegra-D - Allegra-D is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose.
Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant that shrinks blood vessels in the nasal passages. Dilated blood vessels can cause nasal congestion (stuffy nose).
The combination of Allegra-D and pseudoephedrine is used to treat sneezing, cough, runny or stuffy nose, itchy or watery eyes, hives, skin rash, itching, and other symptoms of allergies and the common cold.
Allegra-D and pseudoephedrine may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Relief of symptoms eg sneezing, rhinorrhea, itchy nose/palate/throat, itchy/watery red eyes & nasal congestion associated w/ allergic seasonal rhinitis in adults & childn ≥12 yr. Extended-Release Tablets are indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis in adults and children 12 years of age and older. Symptoms treated effectively include sneezing, rhinorrhea, itchy nose/palate/ and/or throat, itchy/watery/red eyes, and nasal congestion. should be administered when both the antihistaminic properties of Allegra-D hydrochloride and the nasal decongestant properties of pseudoephedrine hydrochloride are desired.
