Budesonid Arrow uses and description

Indication: Intranasal

Management of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis symptoms in adults and children.

Powder for inhalation

For the maintenance treatment of asthma as prophylactic therapy in adults and children 6 y and older.

Inhalation suspension

For the maintenance treatment of asthma and as prophylactic therapy in children 12 mo to 8 y of age.

Oral capsule

Crohn disease.

Budesonid Arrow is a synthetic corticosteroid used in Crohn\'s disease to decrease the symptoms and inflammation associated with the disease, especially at times of flare up. Budesonid Arrow has a high topical glucocorticosteroid (GCS) activity and a substantial first pass elimination. The formulation contains granules which are coated to protect dissolution in gastric juice, but which dissolve at pH >5.5, ie, normally when the granules reach the duodenum. Thereafter, a matrix of ethylcellulose with Budesonid Arrow controls the release of the drug into the intestinal lumen in a time-dependent manner.

Oral Inflammatory bowel disease

Adult: Active disease: 9 mg daily; up to 8 wk, reduce dose before stopping therapy. Recurring episodes of active disease: May repeat an 8-wk course. Maintenance of remission: 6 mg once daily, for up to 3 mth; thereafter, gradually reduce dose before stopping treatment. Hepatic impairment: Dose reduction may be needed. Nasal Treatment and prophylaxis of rhinitis

Adult: Initially, 200 mcg into each nostril daily, reduced to 100 mcg into each nostril daily until symptoms are controlled. Or initially, 100 mcg into each nostril bid. Nasal Nasal polyps

Adult: 100 mcg bid into each nostril up to 3 mth. Inhalation Asthma

Adult: MDI: 400 mcg daily in 2 divided doses, increased up to 1.6 mg daily in severe cases.

Maintenance: 200-400 mcg daily. As dry powd inhaler: 200-800 mcg daily in single dose or 2 divided doses. As nebulised solution: Usual dose: 1-2 mg inhaled bid. Maintenance dose: 0.5-1 mg bid.

Child: MDI: 50-400 mcg bid. Nebulised solution: 3 mth-12 yr: Initially, 0.5-1 mg bid. Maintenance dose: 0.25-0.5 mg bid. Max

Budesonid Arrow is used to treat asthma. Budesonid Arrow belongs to a group of medicines called "steroids". Steroids reduce the inflammation in the airways of your lungs. This helps to relieve chest tightness, wheezing and cough so that you can breathe more easily. Budesonid Arrow is a preventive asthma medicine which must be used regularly long-term. Budesonid Arrow cannot relieve an acute asthma attack.

Budesonid Arrow is used to treat Crohn\'s disease, which causes inflammation in the lower digestive tract (bowel). It is known as an inflammatory bowel disease. Budesonid Arrow helps to relieve diarrhoea, stomach cramps and pain commonly experienced by people with Crohn\'s Disease.

Maintenance: 200-400 mcg/day. As dry powd inhaler: 200-800 mcg/day. As nebulised soln: Inhale 1-2 mg twice daily.

Maintenance: 0.5-1 mg twice daily. Nasal Prophylaxis and treatment of rhinitis Initial: 200 mcg into each nostril daily, may reduce to 100 mcg into each nostril daily until symptoms are controlled. Nasal polyps 100 mcg twice daily into each nostril for up to 3 mth.
