Cordicef uses and description

Sort by popularity
Cordicef - Cordicef is in a group of drugs called cephalosporin (SEF a low spor in) antibiotics. It works by fighting bacteria in your body.

Cordicef injection is used to treat many kinds of bacterial infections, including severe or life-threatening forms such as meningitis.

Cordicef may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.

Cordicef is a cephalosporin/cephamycin beta-lactam antibiotic used in the treatment of bacterial infections caused by susceptible, usually gram-positive, organisms. Cordicef has in vitro activity against gram-positive and gram-negative aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. The bactericidal activity of Cordicef results from the inhibition of cell wall synthesis and is mediated through Cordicef binding to penicillin binding proteins (PBPs). Cordicef is stable against hydrolysis by a variety of beta-lactamases, including penicillinases, and cephalosporinases and extended spectrum beta-lactamases.
