Dropax - Used for: Treating depression or obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). It may be used to treat panic disorder or posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It may also be used to treat generalized anxiety disorder or social anxiety disorder. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor. Paroxetine is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). It works by restoring the balance of serotonin, a natural substance in the brain, which helps to improve certain mood problems.

Pharmacology: Blocks reuptake of serotonin, enhancing serotonergic function.

Indication: Major depressive disorder (MDD); panic disorder; social anxiety disorder (except Pexeva ). IR only Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD); generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) (except Pexeva ); posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) (except Pexeva ). CR only Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). Paroxetine is an antidepressant, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. This medication has a bicyclic structure distinct from the structures of other known antidepressants. Dropax has antidepressant and anxiolytic effects when expressed enough incentive (activated) effect.

Antidepressant (thymoleptic) action is related to the ability of Dropax selectively block the reuptake of serotonin presynaptic membrane than is caused by increase of free content of this neurotransmitter in the synaptic cleft and enhancement of its activity in the CNS.

Effect on the m-cholinergic receptors, alpha- and beta-adrenergic receptors is only slightly which determines the extremely weak intensity of the side effects. Paroxetine, an antidepressant drug of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) type, has no active metabolites and has the highest specificity for serotonin receptors of all the SSRIs. It is used to treat depression resistant to other antidepressants, depression complicated by anxiety, panic disorder, social and general anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), premenstrual dysphoric disorder, premature ejaculation, and hot flashes of menopause in women with breast cancer.
