Droxilar - Droxilar is in a group of drugs called cephalosporin (SEF a low spor in) antibiotics. It works by fighting bacteria in your body.
Droxilar is used to treat many different types of infections caused by bacteria.

Droxilar is a cephalosporin antibiotic. It works by interfering with the bacteria's cell wall formation. This weakens the cell wall, causing it to rupture, resulting in death of the bacteria.
Pharmacology: Inhibits mucopeptide synthesis in bacterial cell wall.
Indication: Treatment of infections of urinary tract, skin and skin structures; treatment of pharyngitis and tonsillitis caused by susceptible strains of specific microorganisms.

Adult: 1-2 g daily as a single or 2 divided doses.
Child: >6 yr: 500 mg bid; 1-6 yr: 250 mg bid; <1 yr: 25 mg/kg daily in divided doses. CrCl (ml/min) Dosage Recommendation 26-50 0.5-1 g bid. 11-25 0.5-1 g once daily. ≤10 0.5-1 g every 36 hr. Oral Skin and skin structure infections
Adult: 1 g/day in single or divided doses.

Adult: For treatment of group A β-haemolytic streptococcal pharyngitis and tonsillitis: 1 g/day in single or divided doses for 10 days.
Child: 30 mg/kg/day in equally divided doses every 12 hr for at least 10 days. CrCl (ml/min) Dosage Recommendation 26-50 0.5-1 g bid. 11-25 0.5-1 g once daily. ≤10 0.5-1 g every 36 hr. Oral Tonsillitis
Adult: For treatment of group A β-haemolytic streptococcal pharyngitis and tonsillitis: 1 g/day in single or divided doses for 10 days.
Child: 30 mg/kg/day in equally divided doses every 12 hr for at least 10 days. CrCl (ml/min) Dosage Recommendation 26-50 0.5-1 g bid. 11-25 0.5-1 g once daily. ≤10 0.5-1 g every 36 hr.
Indications: Susceptible infections.
