Feloran Gel is an NSAID. Exactly how it works is not known. It may block certain substances in the body that are linked to inflammation. NSAIDs treat the symptoms of pain and inflammation. They do not treat the disease that causes those symptoms.

NSAIDs, a derivative of phenylacetic acid, Feloran Gel has a pronounced anti-inflammatory, analgesic and mild antipyretic effect. The mechanism of action is associated with inhibition of COX activity - the main enzyme metabolism of arachidonic acid, which is a precursor of prostaglandins, which play a major role in the pathogenesis of inflammation, pain and fever. Analgesic effect is due to two mechanisms: peripheral (indirectly, through suppression of prostaglandin synthesis) and central (due to inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis in the central and peripheral nervous system).

Inhibits synthesis of proteoglycan in cartilage.

In rheumatic diseases, Feloran Gel reduces joint pain at rest and in motion, as well as morning stiffness and swelling of the joints, helps to increase range of motion; reduces post-traumatic and postoperative pain, and inflammatory edema.

Inhibits platelet aggregation. With prolonged use has a desensitizing effect.

When used topically in ophthalmology reduces swelling and pain in inflammatory processes non-infectious etiology.

Feloran Gel is an acetic acid nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic and antipyretic properties. Feloran Gel is used to treat pain, dysmenorrhea, ocular inflammation, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and actinic keratosis

Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug which possesses anti-inflammatory, anesthetic and anti-fever effect. It works by selectively inhibiting COX-1 and COX-2 thus interfering in the synthesis of arachidonic acid in the organism which results in decreased quantity of prostoglandins in the inflamed region. The drug lowers inflammation, pain and improves the functional state of the inflamed part.

Indications:

  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Psoriasis arthritis
  • Podagric arthritis
  • Other forms of arthritis
  • Rheumatoid affection of soft tissue

  • Feloran Gel (marketed as Voltaren and under a number of other trade names, see below) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) taken to reduce inflammation and as an analgesic reducing pain in conditions such as arthritis or acute injury. In the United Kingdom, India, and the United States, it may be supplied as either the sodium or potassium salt, in China most often as the sodium salt, while in some other countries only as the potassium salt. Feloran Gel is available as a generic drug in a number of formulations. Over the counter (OTC) use is approved in some countries for minor aches and pains and fever associated with common infections.
