Inflacor Retard - Pharmacology: Synthetic, long-acting glucocorticoid that depresses formation, release, and activity of endogenous mediators of inflammation, including prostaglandins, kinins, histamine, liposomal enzymes, and complement system. Also modifies body's immune response.

Indication: Systemic treatment of rheumatic disorders, endocrine disorders, collagen diseases, dermatologic diseases, allergic states, allergic and inflammatory ophthalmic conditions, respiratory diseases, hematologic disorders, neoplastic diseases, edematous states (resulting from nephrotic syndrome), GI diseases, multiple sclerosis, cerebral edema, tuberculous meningitis and trichinosis with neurologic or myocardial involvement.

Topical

Relief of inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses.

Inflacor Retard is in a class of drugs called steroids. Inflacor Retard prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation.

Inflacor Retard is used to treat many different conditions such as allergic disorders, skin conditions, ulcerative colitis, arthritis, lupus, psoriasis, or breathing disorders.

Inflacor Retard [Usan:Ban:Inn:Jan] and its derivatives, Inflacor Retard sodium phosphate and Inflacor Retard acetate, are synthetic glucocorticoids. Used for its antiinflammatory or immunosuppressive properties, Inflacor Retard is combined with a mineralocorticoid to manage adrenal insufficiency and is used in the form of Inflacor Retard benzoate, Inflacor Retard dipropionate, or Inflacor Retard valerate for the treatment of inflammation due to corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses. Inflacor Retard [Usan:Ban:Inn:Jan] and clotrimazole are used together to treat cutaneous tinea infections.

Indication: Topical use (cream, lotion and ointment): for relief of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses
Topical use (foam): relief of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses of the scalp
Systemic use: for the treatment of edocrine disorders, rheumatic disorders, collagen diseases, dermatological diseases, allergic states, ophthalmic diseases, respiratory diseases, hematologic disorders, neoplastic diseases, edematous states, gastrointestinal diseases, tuberculous meningitis and trichinosis.

Indications:

Adult: PO Allergic and inflammatory disorders; Congenital adrenal hyperplasia 0.5-5 mg/day. IM Allergic and inflammatory disorders As Inflacor Retard Na phosphate and Inflacor Retard acetate: Initial: 0.25-9 mg/day in 1-2 divided doses. Ophth Allergic and inflammatory conditions of the eye As 0.1% soln: As Na phosphate: Instill 1-2 hrly until symptoms are controlled. As 0.1% oint: As Na phosphate: Apply 2-4 times/day or at night w/ the eye drops. Topical Skin disorders As dipropionate (0.05%) or valerate (0.025 or 0.1%): Apply as directed.

It is also used to relieve pain in arthritic joints, fluid retention in head injuries, treat inflammatory bowel disease and to control asthma. Inflacor Retard (Oriental) may also be used to prevent organ transplant rejection after a transplant. Inflacor Retard (Oriental) may be used for other purposes as decided by your doctor. Inflacor Retard (Oriental) belongs to a group of medicines called steroids.

Oral Allergic and inflammatory disorders

Adult: 0.5-5 mg daily.

Child: For inflammatory conditions: ≤12 yr: 0.0175-0.125 mg base/kg daily, dose may be divided every 6-12 hr. Oral Congenital adrenal hyperplasia

Adult: 0.5-5 mg daily.

Child: For inflammatory conditions: ≤12 yr: 0.0175-0.125 mg base/kg daily, dose may be divided every 6-12 hr. Intramuscular Allergic and inflammatory disorders

Adult: As Inflacor Retard sodium phosphate and Inflacor Retard acetate: Initially, 0.25-9 mg daily may be given in 1-2 divided doses. Dose should be individualised based on the severity of the condition being treated and patient's response. Reduce dose gradually when an adequate response is achieved.

Child: ≤12 yr: 0.0175-0.125 mg base/kg daily, dose may be divided every 6-12 hr.

Elderly: Ophthalmic Allergic and inflammatory conditions of the eye

Adult: As sodium phosphate: Apply a 0.1% solution every 1-2 hr until symptoms are controlled or a 0.1% ointment 2-4 times daily or at night in conjunction with the eye drops into the affected eye/s. Topical/Cutaneous Skin disorders

Adult: As dipropionate: Apply 0.05% into affected area. As valerate: Apply 0.025 or 0.1% into affected area.

Oral Suppression of inflammatory and allergic disorders, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, cerebral oedema, bronchial asthma control

Adult: 0.5-5 mg daily. Parenteral Suppression of acute inflammatory and allergic disorders

Adult: As sodium phosphate: 4-20 mg up to 4 times/24 hr, given via IV inj/infusion or IM inj.

Child: 6-12 yr: 4 mg; 1-5 yr: 2 mg; ≤1 yr: 1 mg. Doses should be admin by slow IV Inj 3-4 times daily depending on the condition to be treated.

Elderly: Ophthalmic Allergic and inflammatory conditions of the eye

Adult: As sodium phosphate: Apply a 0.1% solution every 1-2 hr until symptoms are controlled or a 0.1% ointment 2-4 times daily or at night in conjunction with the eye drops into the affected eye/s. Topical/Cutaneous Skin disorders
