Levoquinox - Pharmacology: Interferes with microbial DNA synthesis.
Indication: Treatment of acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, acute bacterial sinusitis, acute pyelonephritis, anthrax (inhalational, postexposure), chronic bacterial prostatitis, community-acquired pneumonia, complicated and uncomplicated skin and skin-structure infections, complicated and uncomplicated UTI, and nosocomial pneumonia caused by susceptible strains of specific microorganisms.
Ophthalmic use
Treatment of conjunctivitis caused by susceptible strains of aerobic gram-positive and aerobic gram-negative microorganisms.

Disseminated gonococcal infections; traveler's diarrhea.
Levoquinox, a fluoroquinolone antiinfective, is the optically active L-isomer of ofloxacin. Levoquinox is used to treat bacterial conjunctivitis, sinusitis, chronic bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia and pneumonia caused by penicillin-resistant strains of Streptococcus pneumoniae, skin and skin structure infections, complicated urinary tract infections and acute pyelonephritis.

Adult: 1-2 drops of 0.5% solution every 2 hr while awake (up to 8 times daily) for 2 days, then 1-2 drops every 4 hr while awake (up to 4 times daily) for the next 5 days.
Child: >1 yr: 1-2 drops of 0.5% solution every 2 hr while awake (up to 8 times daily) for 2 days, then 1-2 drops every 4 hr while awake (up to 4 times daily) for the next 5 days. Special Populations: For patients with CrCl of 20-49 mL/min, the initial dose of 500 mg is administered followed by 250 mg once daily. If CrCl is 10-19 mL/min, the initial dose of 500 mg is administered followed by 250 mg every 48 hours. Reduce dose in patients with renal impairment.
Indications:
Adult: PO/IV Acute sinusitis 500 mg once daily for 10-14 days. Acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis 500 mg once daily for 7 days. Community-acquired pneumonia 500 mg once daily for 7-14 days. Uncomplicatd skin infections 500 mg once daily for 7-10 days. Nosocomial pneumonia ; Complicated skin infections 750 mg once daily for 7-14 days. Uncomplicated UTI 250 mg once daily for 3 days. Acute pyelonephritis ; Complicated UTI 250 mg once daily for 10 days. Chronic bacterial prostatitis 500 mg once daily for 28 days. Treatment and postexposure prophylaxis of inhalation anthrax 500 mg once daily for 60 days. Ophth Ocular infections As 0.5% soln: Instill 1-2 drops 2 hrly while awake (up to 8 times/day) for 2 days, then 1-2 drops 4 hrly while awake (up to 4 times/day) for 5 days.
