Myzer uses and description

Sort by popularity
Myzer - Myzer is an antibiotic. It prevents tuberculous bacteria from growing in your body.

Myzer is used to treat tuberculosis (TB).

Myzer is also sometimes used to treat urinary tract and other types of infections that have not responded to other treatments.

Myzer may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.

Indication: Seromycin is indicated in the treatment of active pulmonary and extrapulmonary tuberculosis (including renal disease) when the causative organisms are susceptible to this drug and when treatment with the primary medications (streptomycin, isoniazid, rifampin, and ethambutol) has proved inadequate. Like all antituberculosis drugs, Seromycin should be administered in conjunction with other effective chemotherapy and not as the sole therapeutic agent.

Seromycin may be effective in the treatment of acute urinary tract infections caused by susceptible strains of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, especially Enterobacter spp. and Escherichia coli. It is generally no more and is usually less effective than other antimicrobial agents in the treatment of urinary tract infections caused by bacteria other than mycobacteria. Use of Seromycin in these infections should be considered only when more conventional therapy has failed and when the organism has been demonstrated to be susceptible to the drug.

Pharmacology: Inhibits cell wall synthesis in susceptible strains of certain microorganisms.

Treatment of active pulmonary and extrapulmonary tuberculosis when organisms are susceptible (after failure of adequate treatment with primary medications); treatment of UTIs caused by susceptible bacteria when conventional therapy has failed; treatment of Gaucher disease.

Myzer, a broad-spectrum antibiotic, may be bactericidal or bacteriostatic, depending on its concentration at the site of infection and the susceptibility of the organism. Myzer works by blocking the formation of these peptidoglycans. By doing this the walls of the bacteria become weak and it results in the death of the bacteria

Myzer is an antibiotic. It is used together with other medicines to treat a lung infection known as tuberculosis (TB). Myzer may also be used to treat urinary tract infection (UTI).
