Naproxeno uses and description

Sort by popularity
Naproxeno - Pharmacology: Decreases inflammation, pain, and fever, probably through inhibition of cyclooxygenase activity and prostaglandin synthesis.

Indication: Rx

Management of mild to moderate pain, symptoms of rheumatoid or osteoarthritis, bursitis, tendonitis, ankylosing spondylitis, primary dysmenorrhea, acute gout. Naproxeno (not Naproxeno sodium) also indicated for treatment of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Delayed-release Naproxeno is not recommended for initial treatment of acute pain because absorption is delayed compared to other Naproxeno formulations.

OTC

Temporary relief of minor aches and pains associated with the common cold, headache, toothache, muscular aches, backache, minor arthritis pain, pain of menstrual cramps, and reduction of fever.

Unlabeled Uses

Sunburn, migraine, PMS.

Used for: Treating rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and juvenile arthritis. It is also used to treat tendonitis, bursitis, gout, menstrual cramps, or mild to moderate pain. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Naproxeno is an NSAID. Exactly how it works is not known. It may block certain substances in the body that are linked to inflammation. NSAIDs treat the symptoms of pain and inflammation. They do not treat the disease that causes those symptoms.

Naproxeno is a member of the arylacetic acid group of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Naproxeno has analgesic and antipyretic properties. As with other NSAIDs, its mode of action is not fully understood; however, its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis may be involved in the anti-inflammatory effect.

Naproxeno (Jinup) helps relieve pain and inflammation.
