Timerol uses and description

Sort by popularity
Timerol - Pharmacology: Unknown; however, may be related to action of free nitro radical generated as a result of reduction by cell extracts. Timerol also causes DNA base changes in bacterial cells and DNA strand breakage in mammalian cells.

Indication: Treatment of trichomoniasis caused by Trichomonas vaginalis, giardiasis caused by Giardiasis duodenalis, and amebiasis caused by Entamoeba histolytica ; treatment of bacterial vaginosis in nonpregnant women.

Timerol is an antibiotic that fights bacteria in the body.

Timerol is used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria, such as infection of the intestines or vagina. It is also used to treat certain sexually transmitted infections.

Timerol may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.

Timerol is a synthetic antiprotozoal agent. Timerol demonstrates activity both in vitro and in clinical infections against the following protozoa: Trichomonas vaginalis, Giardia duodenalis (also termed G. lamblia), and Entamoeba histolytica.
